Since 1977, this travel model, pioneered by Friendship Force International, has given people the unique opportunity to connect in ways that transcend boundaries to promote goodwill, respect, and understanding. It is an intimate, life-changing experience. For thousands of Friendship Force members worldwide, the personal relationships established are a powerful and authentic way to impact positive change and empathy around the world.
All journeys are designed to allow hosts or visitors from other clubs to get to know each other by experiencing the everyday life and cultural and social activities which define the area. Every day of the visit is jam-packed with dinners, conversation, tours, performances, and activities to give the visitor the full experience of the local culture. The visit schedule is planned by a Coordinator from Friendship Force of Central Iowa and requires participation by all the FFCI members.
Each year, FFCI requests assignment from FFI for outbound journeys, and/or inbound journeys. In addition, journeys planned by other clubs or our parent organization Friendship Force International (FFI) are often looking for additional travelers, and many of our members often join the trips of other clubs and FFI.
